Founded in 1778 as the county seat of Rockbridge, Lexington derived much of its character and success to Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee and George Marshall.
The beautifully restored downtown is
bordered by two prominant colleges -
Washington & Lee University and
Virginia Military Institute (VMI). It remains an excellent center of historic, cultural, artistic, and
educational opportunities.
With the addition of the reknown Virginia
Horse Center, the area abounds in its sporting
and recreational activities. |
